Riding "Annie"

Well she did it, Hattie got on Annie and rode her this afternoon. Now you have to know a bit of history. Annie and Hattie have been great friends for a few years now but Hats has been scared to ride her good friend Annie. Annie has gone and visited a few trainers for extened periods of time but when Annie came home the fear was still there. Well today she did it, she put Great Grandpa's saddle on her and off they were.
What a wonderful day!!

Family Dinner

A bit ago we had a family dinner - all of Grandma and Grandpa's kids and grandkids were able to attend. It was wonderful to have uncle Kevin home on leave, he is such a blast to have around we sure are proud of him and the choices he is making. He might be the youngest in his family but he has lots of neices and nephews looking up to him.

We are greatful to be part of an eternal family.

Trip to the Photo Shop

The boys and mom spent the day visiting the big city - we took a load of sheep to the sale for Grandpa and stopped to have our pictures taken. Very cute boys if you ask their mom.

Our trip to Southern Idaho

What a grand adventure - Aunt Megan helped make it possible for us to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa Brown. We had a great time visiting and playing in the yard. Grandpa even let us play on the JohnDeere. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a wonderful weekend.

We stopped to dip our feet in a resivor by Dillion.

County Fair

We spent the last week at the county fair, Hattie clipped, washed, and polished her lamb for the fair, then she put a pretty coat to keep all the grim and dirt off. "Jaid" was very excited to go into town and stay over with all the other pretty animals- sheep, goats, pigs, steers, rabbits, chickens (and a variety of other feathered friends). Hattie stayed at the fair grounds in the camper so "Jaid" wouldn't be alone. Thursday was Jaid's day to shine- she showed how strong she could be and tried to jump away from Hattie several times, but Hattie hung on tight and didn't let go. Friday Hattie showed the judge how well she could handle and groom Jaid - Jaid was on her best behavior and things went very well. Both of them came home with Blue Ribbons and smiles. The week ended on a high note as Aunt Megan purchased Jaid and insead of going to "some other farm" Jaid came home Sunday afternoon. All in all it was a great experience for Hattie and the entire family. It was hard for mom to keep her hands off the lamb and let Hattie do all the work but Hattie proved to us that she could do it mostly on her own. Well see what animal Hattie takes to the fair next year.

Daddy- the backbone of our family

The "Daddy" - he does it all, goes to work and then comes home ready to take over the little boys- that is on the days when there isn't a game/practice to coach, a 4-H meeting to attened, or an animal to hunt. Our Daddy is the best!!!

We love him.

Todd

Now for Todd's introduction; there is none like him. Todd loves to run, play computer games, and though he won't admit it spend time in the woods. Todd is an accomplished hunter - he has a trophy turkey, and a nice mule deer displayed on his wall. Todd is a great big brother. His little brothers look up to him and he takes that resposiblity seriously. His parents are very greatful for all he does around the house and for his great example.

Hattie's new friend

With her own money Hattie purchased her new best friend. "Chevy"

They have spent every spare moment togeather.

Welcome

I have noticed several young mothers with family blogs and they sound hip or cool. I was once a young mother with young kids...now I am an old mother with a new batch of young kids. So here we go...
